Octopodded
I've received some feedback on this story, and I want to say 'thanks' to those who took the time to write me. It's always appreciated, since I rarely receive feedback, good or bad.
For those of you interested in finding out what comes next, I have good news. Chapter two is in the bag, edited, and will be posted this Wednesday at 7 PM. It is around ~9000 words.
I can't/won't release it sooner because sometimes I need to change or tweak something before the final copy goes up, especially while I'm editing the next chapter.
Which leads me to the next bit of news, which is that I've finished the first draft of chapter three in a marathon writing session today. Dropping in at ~14,500 words, this is likely to grow to ~15,000 after editing, a bit longer than I usually like for a chapter.
Still, I'm not going to split it, as I don't feel it's necessary.
Look for that to be posted the Wednesday after, on the 5th of June.
My life is going to be rather complicated after surgery this Wednesday, so I don't know when I'll be able or motivated to get back to writing afterwards. Therefore, I plan on getting the editing of chapter three done tomorrow, so at least this story won't linger incomplete.
I suppose that means I could post the finale sooner, but quite frankly I'm low on blog post ideas and I need something to cover the gap so I'm not under pressure to write during any necessary recuperation.
Robotic Restitution
I know nobody really cares about this trilogy of stories yet, since it's still too far away from release, but I did manage to finish editing my requisite chapter this last week. With two chapters left to go, I am rapidly nearing completion of the first editing pass.
The second proofreading pass will begin the week after. If everything goes as planned, the first book should be ready for release in about a month and a half.
I hope to sit down and try to work out the book cover for that story before I reach that point, but we'll have to see how it goes. I'm playing it by ear, since there are so many unknowns around this process for me. Please be patient!
I'll be back... hopefully soon
I have at least 4-5 story ideas on the backlog, and quite a few more sets in my notes. There's one in particular I find rather interesting, but I'm not sure if it's something I want to dive into right away.
Writing something shorter would probably make more sense, but most of my stories tend to run long no matter how much I intend for them to be short.
I'll have to drag out some ideas the next time I feel well enough to work on a story and see if any of them are worth pursuing. Perhaps I'll even post here and see if anybody has a preference for what I work on next. :)
With any luck, I'll be back in the saddle soon, but with life, one never knows. Sayonara until next time!
