Late April Edition: 'Pod Problems' and 'Tick Tock'

Thank you to everyone who's picked up 'Dirty Hearts,' I hope you all are enjoying it!

I don't have a lot to report at the moment, which is why I haven't posted lately, though I do have a few important updates.

My next short story, 'Pod Problems,' is edited and ready to go.

I've been working on the formatting, and I expect it will be released sometime at the beginning of next month. I'll announce here, of course, once it's been accepted by Amazon, but in the meantime, you can read the synopsis:

'Pod Problems' Synopsis

"Laine has trouble tolerating her housemate’s sloppy behavior until her mind is changed by the alien seed growing in her basement. Impregnated with its offspring, she finds herself desiring to grow closer to those around her, to share the master’s pleasure.

Soon, the creature in her belly is sitting on top of her housemate’s head, telling her what to do and think. Pulled into the fold, the two of them find their bodies being transformed to match the alien thoughts taking over their minds.

Two is not enough, however. More servants are needed if the master is to proliferate. A party with their friends may just be the ticket necessary to bring their master what it needs to succeed."

Tick Tock

My next novel is a story called 'Tick Tock,' all about mankind's misplaced trust in AI technology and hive drones. I have some interesting ideas to explore in this space, I'm just hoping that I can pull it off since I'm flying by the seat of my pants on this one!

Rankotech is back, and this time their technological innovations are getting away from them! (Through the wholly owned subsidiary, Bright Times Inc.)

I'm already at 30K on this novel, and I expect there will be many more chapters to go. I don't have the end of the outline finalized, so I can't point my finger at a date just yet. With any luck, I'll be ready to start editing around the end of next month, which makes for a July release date. I hope I can get it done sooner than that, but writing often takes longer than you'd think!

After that, I already have another story idea lined up. I just wish I could crank these things out faster, I have too many spaces I want to explore!

End of March Edition - Dirty Hearts/Pod Problems

Dirty Hearts

I feel like I'm getting close to being on the home stretch with 'Dirty Hearts', which is a bit silly, because I'm only 151/238 pages done with the editing. I've managed to keep up a steady pace of 10 pages/day, which is slower than usual, but it feels sustainable without completely taking over my life (I can edit about 7 pages/hour).

I have a convention coming up at the end of the week, and that will be rather disruptive to my usual schedule, so I'm unsure how I will handle it. We'll see how it goes, but I won't promise anything.

It seems likely that I'll be ready to release this novel the second week of March, but I'll provide another update when it gets closer!

Pod Problems

This story is coming along nicely. I'm currently 20K words in (52 pages), and I'm on the final chapter. I suspect I will be done with this story in the next five days.

I don't have a cover, synopsis, or author's notes for this yet, so its release date is uncertain. Worse, I don't have a plan for what I'm writing next, so it's going to be an awkward couple of weeks here until I get things sorted out.

I may do some garden path writing to start out with. I'd like to write something pretty short and hot this go around, maybe something to do with drones. I already have a great background plot idea, but I don't have an interesting story, which is problematic.

Ah well. Another problem for future me.

Gumroad

I said last time that I'd try to write more uncensored stuff, that I didn't think would necessarily be accepted on Amazon, and that I'd end up selling that sort of thing on Gumroad and setup a tip jar there.

Well, that plan has been completely scuttled by the fact that Gumroad has banned everything NSFW, full stop. They are no longer an option.

This is a bummer to me, as I had done a lot of research to find a home for some of the stuff I've been thinking about doing.

Since that option is gone, I think my only solution is to sell that kind of stuff through Smashwords/Direct2Digital, which is less restrictive than Amazon.

Repopulated might be a good candidate to put on there, but I don't currently have any plans. For now, it will remain free until I can figure out how to sort this out.

Ah well, that's life.

Beginning of March - Dirty Hearts Edition

I'm pleased to announce that I've finished the first draft of my next novel, 'Dirty Hearts.' Over the next month or so, I will be working to edit this novel into an ebook. Given that it's 238 pages long, I expect this process to be rather laborious.

I do have the cover, synopsis, and author's notes written, so it's simply the editing that's in the way!

Once it's complete, I shall release it along with 'Soldiers of Darkness' (though that story will be free!)

I've also decided to set up a free promotion for 'Doll Factory' during this release, as it's been almost a year since I've run a free promotion.

I don't yet have a release date, but I expect that it may be early next month, depending on how the next couple of weeks go. I have a lot going on, so it's hard to commit to a particular time frame, but once I know more, I'll post it!

Future Works

After thinking about my general trajectory recently, I've decided that I'm self censoring rather a lot to get certain stories published on Amazon. Going forward, I'm going to try and do less of that.

What does this mean?

Since I've discovered Gumroad, my plan is to sell the less censored stuff there (things I don't think Amazon will take, especially nonconsensual fantasies).

Eventually, I will likely remove the free version of Repopulated from this site and start selling it there. That's very likely months away, so there's no rush, but if you'd like to grab a copy of it, you can still download it here for now:

Dirty Hearts Synopsis

"Pink lost her mother and crystal heart squadmates during a disastrous assault on Karroch, a brutal negative space entity that shattered her confidence and stole her memories.

Forced into retirement, she spends her days trying to rebuild her broken life, but the Shadow Queen has sent her dark servant to offer her a deal she can’t refuse.

Soon, she is drawn into the Queen’s world, where servants take up Her ivory mask and rubber uniforms. Corrupted into erotic shadows of their former selves, they are willing to do anything for Her lustful cause.

One by one, her allies fall, becoming dark parodies of their former selves. Pink is forced to return to her old haunts to scrape together a team, but the Queen is hot on her tail, demanding that she fulfill their contract. If she falls and becomes a Dark Chained Heart, nothing will prevent the Queen from perverting the rest of the crystal hearts into Her busty servants. 

Indeed, it’s already becoming difficult for her to imagine any other outcome."

Pod Problems

Since 'Dirty Hearts' is complete, I've started working on another story. I know I promised more drones, and that is yet to come, but this idea came to me in a dream, and I know better than to ignore these by now.

This should be a shorter story given how it's plotted out, though of course it will change as I work through it and come up with more ideas. I hope it doesn't end up too short, or it may end up releasing before 'Dirty Hearts!'
