Midweek Hotness: More Eggs Edition

As a break between stories, (I have been writing quite a bit, haven't I?) I've decided to highlight some of the hot stuff I've seen recently.

Today, that spotlight goes on a site name XFiction and Vincent Valensky, which has a few fun twine games therein.

Transylvania

You can play this Twine game on his web site here.

The plot involves you starting as a male, taking a job at a creepy hotel. You soon find out the supernatural is afoot, which involves your involuntary transformation into a women via a succubus enchantment, after which sexy times can occur with multiple humanoid monsters.

This is accompanied by some drawings that really help to flesh the story out, but the biggest draw by far is the game mechanics. I won't spoil that here, but it's safe to say that you'll be trying certain things quite a few times until you can figure out a way to the end.

I will say that you need to get down to no beads remaining at least once. I was stuck for quite some time until I figured that one out.

This one is good for fans of vampires, driders, and werewolves.

Sonya and the Dark Oracle

More or less a linear story, most of the decisions you can make are aesthetic, though there are twelve different endings.

Many of them involve you being stuffed with eggs, so if that's your thing, this is a fun game.

Be aware that at the start you end up being transformed into either a female or a shemale, depending upon what you choose, after which point lots of sexy times abound.

If you like oviposition and tentacle monsters, this one is for you.

Midweek: Fairy Fighting Corruption Edition

And now for something completely different. I'm still working on my commission, so there will be nothing story related this week or next week on the blog, most likely, as I get that finished up. I'm planning on publishing my next novel three weeks from now, so that's coming up quite soon!

I was recently reminded of a (quite old now) 2D fighting game made by a guy out of Japan called Eluku, released circa 2007-2013 (don't hold me to the dates, I could be off by a little bit, it's been quite awhile).

If you want to try to play the game yourself, you can find it here. You'll probably need to use Google translate to find the download link, and you might consider downloading the 'easy' version because the game is pretty damn tough (unless you're a fighter game ace, then ignore my recommendation).

It works on Windows 10, with a low, wonky resolution, and you'll need to install DirectPlay to make it work (Windows 10 will auto install this for you).

If you don't feel like doing that, pornhub has plenty of playthroughs you can peruse.

I'm not going to post any screenshots from the game for this blog post, as the character designs are not quite mature enough for my taste (that's Japan for you!) Yes, the characters are fairies, so who knows how the hell old they're actually supposed to be, but my point is that they don't look as old as I'd like.

Fair warning about this one, the fairies truly do get fucked in bizarre and rather disturbing ways by Lovecraftian beasts.

I digress. Let's get down to brass tacks.

A Game in Which You Fight Cthulu Beasts

The plot of the game is pretty simple. You, Tiki, a fairy, and friends, somehow get sucked into an alternate dimension where incredibly strange (and in some case quite gross) monsters are trying to fill all of your holes.

You have to fight your way past 20+ monsters to get out of this terrible dimension and save your friends!

Tiki has a fairly extensive move list (I surely don't know them all), and once you've built up your SP gauge, you can unleash more powerful moves like a strong upper cut, fairy breath, etc.

The only problem, of course, is that the monsters can easily grapple you, and if they do, they're going to fuck you. Quite literally. The extended animations can get a bit tedious when you're trying to beat a fight, but conversely they can be quite satisfying if you're playing as the monster.

And that's one of the biggest appeals of the game - that you can choose a monster to play as and try to beat Tiki to find all of the possible bad ends.

Let's talk about some of the monster designs/move sets that still really get me going, even after all these years.

Mother.D.Worm

Mother D appears to be a gigantic hulking worm, the mother to the smaller, but limited 'drinking worms.' The drinking worms can jump and fasten themselves to Tiki, milking her breasts and wriggling into her vagina, and if three of them fasten at the same time, she gets pulled into the ground for a bad end.

In the background of the stage, one fairy has a blue colored fairy with slit eyes jammed into her vagina, kicking her legs inside her womb (this seems impossible!) Could this be a fallen fairy? Another fairy hangs from the ceiling, it appears that her holes have been well and truly fucked.

As the Mother D, you can get stiffed if your smaller 'drinking worm' offspring get to Tiki before you do, so you should move as fast as you can to get within point blank range. Your strong kick move has a little bit of range, and can be used to milk Tiki's snatch, but that's not really what you're aiming for.

Instead, you want to use the strong punch as soon as you're next to Tiki, causing her to experience a bad end. The drinking worms can help you with this, as you can grab her while she's incapacitated by them.

Vore doesn't usually appeal to me, but damn if this isn't the right way to do it. Totally bizarre.

Move List:

WEAK PUNCH = Arm waggle, doesn't seem to do anything.

STRONG KICK = A hungry yellow tentacle comes out of your mouth, loops around, and plugs itself into Tiki's vagina, sucking her off.

STRONG PUNCH = Mother D Worm grabs Tiki with her vestigial arms and inserts a bulbous purple stalk into her ass, causing the bad end.

Bad End - Tiki Gets Swallowed:

Triggered by landing the strong punch move.

A bulbous purple stalk is inserted into Tiki's ass, which somehow impossibly rams itself throughout her entire body and emerges from her mouth. The end of the stalk acts as a gag, preventing it from being removed. Mother D's tongue jams itself into her vagina and inflates her belly. She gets eaten by the monster and is thoroughly fucked by its stomach appendage.

We don't see what happens to poor Tiki afterwards, but I'll just imagine she's getting bred by the monster to create more drinking worms. :S

Expand Bee

The bees in Cthulu dimension are randy and looking for more females to impregnate. You get to help a lone bee implant its eggs into Tiki.

The background of the stage has bees with their heads implanted in fairy asses, with one getting fucked by tentacle worms.

If you drain Tiki's health, you get to fuck her holes with tentacles. If you follow the SP Max chain, you get to impregnate her with your eggs, which is much more interesting.

Move List:

LEFT + LEFT, RIGHT + RIGHT = Fast move

WEAK PUNCH = Needle drill

STRONG PUNCH = Upper Slash

DOWN + BACK+ WEAK PUNCH = Grabs Tiki and sucks on her vagina. Increases SP gauge and recharges health.

DOWN + FORWARD + WEAK PUNCH = Pink blob barf, incapacitates Tiki momentarily.

DOWN + BACK + STRONG PUNCH = Grab Tiki, and force worms to come out of all of her orifices.

SP Moves:

DOWN + BACK + WEAK PUNCH = The first time, the bee uses four legs to gape open Tiki's ass and utilizes its own ass to implant an egg into Tiki. Tiki can only wave her fist in the air to fend the bee off and crawl on the ground until she births the egg. This uses up one SP gauge.

If you miss this move, the bee will run into the wall and get stunned, so don't miss!

The second time, if you don't have the SP gauge charged, you'll stick your tongue into her mouth and suck on her, filling your SP gauge.

While Tiki still has an egg in her ass, do the move again. You jam your head into her ass and crack open her vagina, laying a second egg inside her. This leaves her incapacitated on the ground.

Do the same move again to refill your gauge. If you wait too long, the egg in her vagina will pop out and you'll need to impregnate her again.

The third time, you pry open her nipples and implant an egg in each one. Tiki crawls around the ground with tongue like worms sticking out of her nipples.

The fourth time, you implant a second egg in her vagina. Tiki can't recover from this stage of implantation, so it's time to finish her off.

Do the move one last time with your SP gauge up and she'll get bad end B.

Bad End A - Tiki Loses All Health

Fuck all her holes with your bee tentacles. Similar to the down + back + strong punch move.

Bad End B - Tiki Gets Impregnated

Triggered by the SP move chain.

Mother bee shows up and Tiki is fucked by her massive cocks, including two tentacles which fuck her nipples. Bee babies hatch out of all of her orifices.

Fallen Fairy

Good gravy, this is the best one of the bunch. I really love the idea of one of her friends being corrupted by an alien tentacle ass beast, then forcing her corruption onto Tiki. If you don't look at any of the other fights, definitely check this one out.

The main monster is the fallen fairy. She has blue skin, yellow slit eyes, black mitt hands with pink claws (& feet!), a blue dick with a pink head, pink nipples, purplish hair, fairy ears, and ripped wings on her back. A tan alien with two legs has embedded itself into her asshole, giving her a tail.

In the back of the stage, fairies are assaulted by red amoeba monsters, gagged by masks that fuck their faces.

The fallen fairy has more bad ends than any other monster in the game (that I'm aware of), but that's because she's awesome. I only wish she had even more!

When starting, to do any of your useful moves, you need to get hit or hit Tiki a few times to charge up your penis. Then you're ready to fuck her silly. Once your SP gauge has at least one flame, you're ready to try and go for one of the bad ends.

If you lose to Tiki, she'll tear the parasite out of your ass. Additionally, Tiki has a special move where she can suck your dick in an attempt to get you off and reduce your SP gauge. If you press any buttons rapidly while she's doing this, you can counter this move and get some revenge.

I wasn't able to find a full move list for the fallen fairy, and it's not listed on the player selection screen, though the Internet was able to give me a few tips. I'm not quite sure if I've found them all, so do let me know if I've missed any.

Move List:

Regular Abilities

LEFT + LEFT OR RIGHT + RIGHT = Teleport left or right.

DOWN + DOWN + WEAK PUNCH = Lay on the ground. Anti-air move, fucks Tiki if she lands in your trap. This one is hard to use, because it can only counter air attacks.

DOWN + FORWARD + WEAK OR STRONG PUNCH = Summon breast sucker. Don't get too close, as when the sucker explodes you can knock yourself onto the ground. Not a very useful move.

RIGHT + WEAK OR STRONG PUNCH = Swipes + upper cut.

BACK + DOWN + FORWARD + WEAK KICK = Spinning kick + foot to vagina fuck if it connects. Leads to Bad End C below if Tiki runs out of health.

MAX Abilities (Can only be used when her penis has MAX status)

DOWN + BACK + WEAK PUNCH (Yellow highlight) = Fuck Tiki and kiss her. Regain health while ejaculating.

DOWN + BACK + STRONG PUNCH (Red highlight) = Doggy Ass fuck. Regain health while ejaculating.

DOWN + BACK + WEAK KICK (Blue highlight) = Face fuck. Regain health while ejaculating.

JMP + DOWN + BACK + WEAK-KICK = Vertical 69. Regain health while ejaculating.

SP MAX Abilities (Require at least one SP):

BACK + DOWN + FORWARD + WEAK PUNCH (Green highlight) = Left foot stomp, charge Tiki. If it connects, the fallen fairy lifts Tiki into the air and pushes her penis between Tiki's legs, milking her breasts. She lifts Tiki higher into the air and jams her onto her dick, fucking her. Setting her on the ground, an ass parasite crawls out of her vagina and into Tiki's ass. The parasite sucks on Tiki's pubic area, creating a new dick. Tiki waddles around on the ground trying to remove the parasite. 

You can use a few MAX abilities while she has an ass parasite. Using any of the DOWN + BACK moves can result in one of two results: Fallen fairy sucks Tiki's new dick, or fallen fairy rides Tiki's penis, ejaculating her own penis into Tiki's mouth.

Using one of these moves drains Tiki's health, resulting in bad end E.

Tiki can break out of this move, ejaculating the fallen fairy's' dick, but that usually occurs only when she has high health.

BACK + DOWN + FORWARD + STRONG PUNCH (Yellow highlight) = First time: ejaculate and incapacitate Tiki if it connects. Second time: Capture and enslave Tiki, resulting in Bad End F.

BACK + DOWN + FORWARD + STRONG KICK (Red highlight) = Charge and smash Tiki with a black screen and a Japanese exclamation. Unknown if this can result in a different bad end.

DOWN + DOWN + STRONG KICK = Lays on the ground with her dick up and waits for Tiki to attack. Shadow fairies materialize and help the fallen fairy to fuck Tiki. Bad End B if Tiki runs out of health during this attack.

JMP + DOWN + BACK + WEAK-PUNCH = Jump into face sit. Afterwards, Tiki moves towards the fallen fairy's cock like a zombie. If Tiki doesn't escape this move, this results in Bad End D.

Bad End A - Tiki Loses All Health

Tiki gets fucked by the fallen fairy's blue dick while she fucks her own vagina with her ass parasite.

Bad End B - Shadow Fairy Finish

Fallen fairy fucks Tiki and kisses her. One of the shadow fairies fucks Tiki's mouth while the other fucks her ass.

Bad End C - Foot Fucking

The fallen fairy makes Tiki orgasm and piss after being fucked by her foot.

Bad End D - Fallen Tiki Fucks Third Fairy

Tiki has turned into a fallen fairy, with her own ass parasite and hand mitts. Her eyes are slits, and she holds and fucks another fairy. The fallen fairy helps to hold the captured fairy, fucking her face.

Bad End E - Fucked With One Shadow Fairy

Tiki has an ass parasite. Her penis is fucked by the fallen fairy on top, as shadow fairies fuck her vagina and mouth. Somewhat similar to Bad End A.

Bad End F - Ass Parasite Invades Tiki

My favorite ending out of all of them. The fallen fairy's ass parasite orgasms into her vagina. An ass parasite crawls out of the fallen fairy's vagina and into Tiki's ass. Tiki's new ass parasite is used to create a new penis for her. Tiki becomes a fallen fairy, her skin tone turning pale.

And That's All For Now

I'm a little surprised I spent so much time trying to figure out these move sets, but there's always the curiosity to try just one more time to see if there's another move I haven't figured out yet.

It's a pretty damn arousing game. Eluku has gone on to work on a side scroller action game with similar themes called Wolf's dungeon, but it doesn't have quite the same corruption elements as this game.

This game is great inspiration for some fan fiction that I would like to write in the future. Likely not in the short term, but the idea is in my story bunker!

Midweek: The Game I May Never Finish Edition

Darkness Ascendant

Sorry, no this is not a story post. I'm still working on a commission so I don't really have time to work on my own fiction at the moment. The first chapter of that work should be done next week, and may or may not be posted here depending on the desire of the commissioner. So don't stay tuned for that because I don't know if it's gonna happen.

No, this post is about a game idea I had ages ago that I fear I will never finish, mostly due to the limitations of the available tools as well as the fact that games take a LOT of effort to finish, far more than even a novel length book.

The seed for this story came primarily from one source: Tabico's The Loosing of the Dark. I've always enjoyed the idea of a dark mistress invading and taking over a small town in service to her dark empire.

The game plan was for you to play the heroine, Sheila, as she encounters the vanguard of the mistress' invasion into the town, and the different possible paths of corruption she would encounter during the invasion.

Would she help or hinder the invaders? Would she be taken over by other, unrelated corruptive forces before the main invasion even arrives?

Part of my reluctance to work on this game was the fact that Twine doesn't natively support a game architecture, it's mainly just for multiple choice stories. The only way to do it is to track variables via a javascript backend in the html and apply them to choices as they come up, which I feel is very rudimentary.

It makes me want to write a proper backend, but I just don't have the motivation to do that on top of also writing the story for the game.

At any rate, recently I've found my desire to write far outweighs my desire to work in javascript, so this story may never see the light of day.

That's a bit unfortunate, so I'm going to post some of only completed bits from this (unfinished) tale. They work okay as fun short flashes in and of themselves. Enjoy!

Starfish Encounter

Getting close to one of the barrels, she peeked inside. There was just more of the same - apples on top that superficially looked ripe, but when examined more closely in the lamp light of the shop revealed themselves to be rotten at the core. 

With a little experimentation, Sheila got better at sorting out the bad apples. A tell tale sign was a small smudge of darkness around the stem, allowing her to more quickly sort them appropriately.

Something intriguing caught her eye down farther in the barrel, so she continued sorting instead of giving up the task as a fruitless endeavor. A few layers of apples later, she found two apples next to each other that appeared to have a strange creature clenched tightly around each ruby red shape.

Her curiosity getting the better of her, she brought an apple up in each hand, turning them slowly to examine the creatures more closely. They were starfish-like in shape, each one with eight arms wrapped delicately, but tightly around the apples. The center of each creature sat on top of the apple where the stem would be, a small slit visible. The arms of both creatures were dark purple and hard to the touch, a but bumpy with what almost looked like pimples.

Suddenly, the slit on both creatures popped open, revealing deep purple eyes that shine with an inner light. A wavy pattern immediately catches Sheila's eyes and stills her thoughts. They were beautiful!

Continuing to stare at the undulating pattern, Sheila watched as each critter slowly disengaged from their apples, now crawling slowly up her arms, suction cups under each appendage softly adhering to her skin. Before she could shake off the creature induced lassitude, they scurried up to her neck line and under her shirt, deftly sliding under her bra and around each breast, cupping them gently. There was a gentle pinch as each creature firmly attached themselves to both breasts.

The creatures nestled tightly against the tops of Sheila's breasts, covering her nipples entirely. She felt a slight tickling sensation as they continued to integrate themselves more closely into her body, spindling control threads throughout her fuzzy body. Every second that passed she could feel them becoming more tightly fastened. She was certain that they would never come off again, and that gave her a warm fuzzy feeling inside.

Her mouth drooping open, she gently massaged the star-fish like creatures on her breasts, the full orbs barely contained by her now undersized bra. They had doubled in size, a fact that made her strangely pleased.

She sighed in pleasure as the twisty threads inside her broke through into her brain pan, her jumbled, nonsensical worries starting to leak away. Those silly thoughts about her family - they weren't required any more. All she needed to think was provided to her by the animals on her breasts. They squeezed her generous bust gently, encouraging her slave-fish behavior.

With the positive encouragement, it didn't take long for her to start agreeing with the sentiment. Why worry? Why resist? Her breasts knew what was best for her. She stroked the outer surface of them softly, grinning at their new sensitivity.

But why would she keep these new sensations to herself? Clearly the rest of the town needed to know the joy of giving in, surrendering their brains to the small creatures.

She stepped closer to one of the barrels and watched benignly as more star-fish creatures slowly crawled up the side of her shirt, then inside to stack themselves neatly in and around the now voluminous folds of her assets.

The first step to take over the town would be to get her father alone. Once he had been suborned there would be nothing to stop their general store from distributing the star fish throughout the frontier town!

Author's Note: Here we see the starfish attaching themselves to Sheila. They were meant to be parasites that would force you to take over the town. I do like the idea of having entire alternate story lines in the game, but it can quickly make the game more complex than you can possibly imagine!

Mysterious Vanguard

Stepping through the strips of curtain that separated the back storage from the front office, Sheila gasped involuntarily and came to a stop. Two slender figures stood in the store, their shiny bodies oozing dark sexuality.

They were clad in black, from head to toe, a mess of leather buckles and a thin, skin-tight shiny material that left little to the imagination. Their waists were cinched tight with over-bust corsets, compressing their busts impossibly small while emphasizing their plentiful assets.

One of them had her hair done up in a pony tail, while the other's flowed freely. Both, however, wore tight leather collars around their necks, each one fitted with a large, faintly glowing precious gem nestled at the base of their throats. Sheila found herself strangely entranced for a moment before she could tear her attention away from the sexy predators.

For predators they were, their feet tightly encased in knee high boots that had practical heels for running, and leather gauntlets around their wrists for blocking small arms. None of these accouterments distracted Sheila quite as much as their blazing eyes, one set of them blue and the other green. They almost look as if they were lit from within.

"I'm sorry," Mac was saying, an unaccustomed look of slight fear on his face. "We're currently out of bridles. We have more on back order, but they haven't yet arrived. The next train from Sherneck arrives next week."

"That is...unfortunate," the one with a pony tail said in a husky voice, "but not a huge inconvenience for us." Her eyes flashed briefly with an inner light. 

"We will be staying at Jung's Inn, down the street." She continued, her face smooth. "Please let us know as soon as possible when they arrive."

Deciding that boldness is a sign of true valor, Sheila stepped out into shop and confronted the strangers, despite the aura of darkness that seemed to follow their presence. "Who are you, travelers? I have never seen your like before."

"We are the humble servants of Queen Ash'a, mistress of the realms once forgotten," said the one with the flowing black hair mysteriously. She bowed elegantly with a flourish, then bored her scintillating green eyes into Sheila, who quailed at the close inspection. "Who may you be, lost sister?"

"My name is Sheila." She ignored the confusing statement made by the mysterious woman. "Why are you here?" The last was said with vigor, her words sharp like a paring knife.

They smiled knowingly. "It is getting late, the dust from the road clings to our heels. If you wish to know more, you may find us later at the Inn. For now, we take our leave." They turned, wooden floor creaking under their heels as they brushed through the front door.

The dark aura left with them, but its absence left behind a faint longing within Sheila. "Good riddance," tutted her father, shaking his head. "There's something wrong with those two, something very disturbing. I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole, no matter how attractive they might be." He started wiping down the counter compulsively, sweat beading his brow.

Sheila's mother rushed from behind the counter and caught her hand. "Please don't talk to them more, there's something wrong about them. I can feel it!"

To placate her mother, Sheila assured her that she wouldn't pursue the intriguing offer from the leather clad women.

Author's Note: Here's the first encounter with the mysterious servants of the queen. Later on, Sheila is supposed to visit them at the Inn and optionally have an encounter with an orb they're carrying with them and prematurely turn into a slave. A bad end of course, but hey, if you insist on sticking your fingers everywhere, something bad is bound to happen!

Publishing an eBook with Free Tools Edition

After all the effort I have expended trying to figure out how to format an ebook the last few days, I've decided to put together a guide on how to do it. Primarily so that if I forget any of the steps I can come back here to reference how I did it the first time!

Please don't blame me if I've missed anything... this is simply what I've done that worked for me!

Prerequisites

First, let's start with what you'll need before you start.

• Cover art. Ideal size is 2,560 x 1,600 pixels. If you get it in this size, it should work for all ebook sizes. A stock picture, art you've done yourself, art you've commissioned - get it in this size, if possible.
• GIMP, or another image manipulation tool. You need to be able to convert your cover art to TIF and JPG formats.
• Paypal account. Kindle KDP supports direct bank account deposits, but Smashwords wants Paypal.
• Your manuscript.
• Word document editor. Since I'm doing this on a shoe string budget, I used Libre Office. If you're using Word, some of the steps here might be easier for you, but you probably won't be able to use this guide because I'm gearing it towards using LibreOffice.
• Alkinea - A libre office format (.odt) to epub and mobi format converter.
• Document template. You can find a sample on the Alkinea Website. Using this saves a LOT of time.
• Kindlegen - a Kindle utility required by Alkinea to convert to Amazon's mobi format.
• Kindle Previewer - used to preview your eBook before uploading to Amazon.

Amazon Kindle

It's best to start your formatting journey here, because you can derive what you need for Smashwords once you have your eBook formatted correctly for Amazon. Amazon is much less strict about what you need, surprisingly.

1. Do not include your cover image inside the eBook here - that will be handled for you by Alkinea later.
2. The first page should be your title page. Put in your title, 'by Author', and information about other books in your series, if applicable.
3. The next page should contain your copyright information. This will be different depending on the publisher you're using - Smashwords wants particular license information, but Amazon doesn't seem to care. You can also include your blog and email address, if you desire.
4. If you want to add front matter, like dedications, you can do that here.
5. Table of contents. The template I mentioned earlier contains a sample table of contents. Any text which has the 'Heading 1' style set will automatically be considered a chapter header for your ToC. To update the ToC, right click on it and click 'Update index.'
6. Add your chapters. Chapter headers get the 'Heading 1' style, while text gets the 'Text Body' style.
1. Using the 'Text Body' style will automatically set paragraph indents. These are desired for eBooks.
2. You can change the font if you'd like, but most eReaders allow the reader to change the font so it's not really required. Choose a standard font like Arial, or leave it on Garamond.
   After each chapter, make sure to add a line break.
7. Replace block paragraphs in your manuscript text with zero line breaks. eBooks don't like block paragraphs, instead they want every paragraph indented.
1. Select the text of one of your chapters and go to Edit -> Find & Replace. Check the 'Regular Expressions' box and in the 'Find' box put ^$. Click on 'Replace All.' This will remove all paragraph line breaks.
2. This will also make your chapter breaks and *** interstitials look weird, so make sure to re-proof your document after doing this replace.
8. Replace all en dashes with em dashes to follow American formatting: ' - ' should be replaced with '—'
9. Add your back matter. Author's notes, references to other works, etc. Be sure to use 'Heading 1' and update your table of contents as appropriate.
10. Open Alkinea. Select your .ODT, set the 'Title' and 'Author,' select the cover image you're using, the location of Kindlegen on your hard drive, then click 'Convert.'
11. In the same folder as your ODT manuscript, Alkinea will create an epub and a mobi.
12. Open Kindle Previewer 3. Drag and drop your mobi file and view your ebook. If you find any formatting errors, open the ODT ,fix them, and regenerate the mobi file with Alkinea. Make sure your cover image is the first page in your ebook in the previewer.
13. Go setup your KDP account on Amazon, setting your pen name as the primary contributor of your book. Make sure you setup your payment and tax information at this time.
14. Amazon will want your cover image in TIF format for display on the site. Use GIMP to do the conversion by opening your cover image and using 'Export As' to save as a TIF.
15. Send in your book!
16. After your book is published, head to Author Central to claim your pen name and associate it with your published book. Update your author profile with a description, bio, image, etc.
17. Use Booklinker to generate a link for Amazon that you can share freely. This link automatically takes the viewer to the appropriate Amazon storefront internationally. You will need a free account for this.

Smashwords

If you thought that was difficult, wait until we do the next part!

1. First, setup your Smashwords account, linking your Paypal account to your Smashwords account.
2. Take your existing formatted .odt document, and do a Save As -> .doc (Word 97-2003) format. 
1. Smashwords does accept epub files, but the epub file generated by Alkinea is NOT automatically accepted by Smashwords. You can validate this by sending your EPUB here for validation. If it works, cool, but it probably won't.
3. If it didn't work, open the .doc you saved. Your first page needs to be your cover image.

Midweek: Free Cities Edition

No story this week, I'm afraid. Just not enough time, health, or motivation to get it done. Hopefully next week!

I know I've talked about Free Cities once before, but I just recently discovered what I would consider to be the 'definitive' version of the game, containing all sorts of mods and alterations.

You can find that version of the game at this location, though it does require a bit of work to get it operational. If you follow the readme, it walks you through what's required, but the gist of it is that you need to download the repository as a zip, unzip it into a folder, then run compile.bat. This will create a bin folder into which the game will be compiled. You can then run FC_pregmod.html in your browser to start the game.

If desired, the game will tell you where to download an image pack, but in my opinion, the built in Vector images do the game justice just fine.

The core game isn't really any different than before, but the new mods add a plethora of options to fiddle with. There's a propaganda HQ, security HQ, and Riot Control Center to deal with the moods of the citizens and slaves in your arcology, as well as the usual barracks which can be used to build up a security force to protect your free city from raiders. This is in addition to the mercenary army you get to start up later in the game.

The story line follows the same path as before, but there are a few added scenarios to handle post main story line, such as the 'hacker,' as well as a peacekeeping force sent by one of the old world nations. Depending on how you handle them, you may well get extra slaves to play with. If you handle them badly, you might end up deposed and enslaved.

It's too bad the game doesn't have a story path through which you could work your way back up to slave owner, but to be fair, that's outside what the game is trying to tackle.

It all costs money, of course, and I usually build a dairy and turn most of my slaves into cows. Once the Dairy gets up to about thirty slaves, there usually aren't so many money problems to deal with, and I can move my arcology from promoting Pastoralism to starting its own religion. Once the religion of hucows is established, there's nothing that can stop 'The Farm' from dominating the landscape of the post-apocalyptic wasteland. Wa ha ha ha!

Ahem.

Fortunately, you can turn off any content you don't want to play with, and with the sheer amount of things you can do in the game, there is certain to be something that will likely offend you. I like to make sure all the characters in my games are eighteen plus, and I turn off any amputation related content, as both of those rather disgust me.

I do like the idea of creating a family/dynasty of slaves, but since the game runs so slow (weekly), you pretty much won't get the opportunity to do that unless you have the child incubator to age them up to eighteen super quickly. Upgraded all the way, it can age children a year of age each week, so you can have a family to play with in the span of 18 weeks, once they give birth (pregnancy still takes the normal amount of time).

Still, the game suffers from a lack of story content after the three or four big events are out of the way. Once you're about three years in, you have enough money to buy the world and there's just not all that much to do besides army upgrades.

That said, the ride up until that point is pretty fun, so I would recommend giving it a spin.

Midweek: Variety Show

A few things have caught my fancy over the last week, so there's no particular theme this time around.

This totally isn't also an excuse to give me some more time to work on my next story.

Uzobono - The Division: Aria of the Hive

The latest comic in Uzobono's delightfully chromed Hive story, 'The Division,' has recently dropped. If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend you give it a look.

If you're not familiar with her work, look for both 'The Division' as well as the 'CORE' series, which is written by Tabico.

Her comics are honestly the best I've seen in this format, so run, don't walk to check it out.

Akabur

If you're a fan of the slave trainer type of story, you'd be missing a lot if you didn't check out Akabur's work. He's made several Ren'Py games in that vein, and has the tendency to steal pop culture icons for his shenanigans.

Take Princess Trainer, for example. Imagine being in the world of Aladdin. You play as the impossibly horny genie, and Jafar is asking you to turn Princess Jasmine into a slut for him. Aladdin isn't around to interrupt the process, and you gradually, over time, turn the entire female population in town into whores.

Not too much MC going on, but the slow breakdown is played quite well, as you slowly convince Jasmine to do more and more degrading things.

Witch Trainer has a similar idea, though this time the genie somehow makes it over into the Harry Potter universe, where Hermione falls into his crosshairs.

The art is spectacular, though I must admit I do kind of wish he'd move away from using his 'dark genie' character all the time. That's really been working for him, though, so I respect that.

Look at his other works as well while you're at it, including 'Breeding Season,' a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles smutfest, along with 'Star Channel 34,' which I haven't had a chance to really check out myself.

If you like his work, he has a patreon. I find it amusing how vague he has to be on Patreon to avoid being banned. It's too bad payment processors are so draconian, I really wish there was a good web site like Patreon that could cater solely to adult interests. Maybe one already exists that I haven't heard of?

Midweek Hotness: Ponygirl Edition

It's that time of the week again!

This time I'm going to talk about pony girls. Usually pet play is not really up my alley (dog play/general animal play). I'm not really into furry stuff in general, though if those furries are being mind controlled or corrupted/forced to do things, then it falls under the umbrella of what I'm interested in.

I'm pretty sure this is a 90's production, as the video quality is just plain bad (apologies in advance, it looks like someone digitized a VHS recording of this production, which is how I got my hands on it eons ago). The leatherwork appears to be expert quality - they clearly knew what they were doing, and, if I had to guess, have likely made horse harnesses before.

I'd like to get into leatherwork one day, but right now that sounds like another expensive hobby I just can't afford.

The video has one of those lovably bad porn stories, where they're capturing girls, turning them into ponygirls, and selling them to interested buyers. However, the training seems to consist of conveniently parading the girls around in circles for the viewers (us) to ogle. No protesting here!

The video ends abruptly, making you wonder if there's more, but I've never heard of a sequel. I haven't exactly looked for one, either, so your mileage may vary.

This is one of three pony girls that ends up an the ranch. She has a delightfully low cut top which allows her breasts to bounce delightfully as she prances.

Look at how intricate this harness is. All the rivets, fasteners, and rings put in place to make this work are insane. I wonder if it had to be custom made for the actress, or if there's enough adjustability to make it fit more than one model?

This back view shows just how much work must have gone into this outfit. I love the look of all the straps, and how it tapers down to fasten under her rear.

Here's a close up of a harness being fastened to another actress. I love the exposed the breasts, though I wonder if incorporating a corset would help to give them more support.

This is supposed to be a new 'slave' that they're going to train, but she seems rather too docile for that. Oh well, this is a crazy fantasy world anyway! Imagine parading her around town in this getup. Probably would be arrested for publish indecency.

Here's another training scene, with a mouth gag. The head lead looks pretty uncomfortable to train with, which is probably the point!

This must have been filmed on a real farm, which makes sense. Best not to have fetish play time near prying eyes. I do wonder whether the production company rented out the farm for the film, or if the farm was owned by the guy who likes to run pony play parties.

Here's the harness with a bit. It looks pretty small, which seems appropriate, as you want to avoid making your pony's jaw too tired.

Over the harness they add a mask, which doesn't do too much for me. This feels a little weird to me, as I'm usually a huge fan of masks. Maybe it's because it looks more punk than alien, and doesn't dehumanize them enough like a hood or a gas mask would.

All trussed up with nowhere to go. It's too bad they don't add the third pony as well!

Apropos of nothing, in the same video, this girl is held captive in a room on the cruise ship the evil pony girl slavers inhabit. They never really explain her presence, but the costume she's in is delightful! This is a bit of a missed opportunity, as I would have liked to see this actress being trained out at the ranch in this costume.

The one downside is that it looks like her catsuit isn't a perfect fit, as there's a little more room in the cups than should be. If I was running this production I'd make sure there was some padding up front to fill out the suit, and that she would be well oiled to shine for the viewers. Oh well, it's still a neat costume. I kind of wish I had that gas mask.

It's yet another opportunity to review the hot things I've seen this week! I'm a bit out of the juiciest material now, so I'm afraid this column is going to be a bit more pedestrian from now on unless I find some stuff that's truly amazing that I have to share! (Or that somebody recommends!)

Cruel Intentions - jillyfae

I remember way back in the past, during a time when the Dragon Age series wasn't a complete dogshit MMORPG for single players. That was the time when sexy elements were inserted into the stories, almost as easter eggs for the adventurer to find.

I was always interested in what might happen if you could make a deal with a Desire Demon in the Fade. What would happen to your character? How might this affect the outside world? Would you be bound to her desires and forced to do things you don't want to do for her in the real world? What kind of disasters might this sort of bargaining cause? What would it look like to play a subtly evil character in that fantasy world?

There would be so many interesting story lines to explore, in my opinion, but they never went there in any of the Dragon Age stories, mores the pity. What's worse is that they completely eliminated female Desire Demons, making the latest iteration MALE in Dragon Age: Inquisition. BORING.

At least there are some people out there writing fan fiction to pick up the slack. This is the sort of story I would like to see in that universe. None of that bland crap about a Sloth demon, though that was probably the most interesting side quest in Dragon Age II. No, I mean flat on corruption by a Desire Demon.

At least these desires can live on in fiction. And the Fade.

Curse of the Faceless (Fire Emblem TF/TG) - NeoOmnimon

This author has made it kind of their thing to write transformation fiction in fandoms. There have been quite a few good ones, and I invite you to take a look through them.

In particular, however, I've been enjoying this story.

I've always been interested in people turning into someone or something else once they put on a mask. I'm not particularly interested in people being turned into chrome robots, but I do like the mental pauses and changes that occur to the evil mistress' victims. 

Well worth a read, though do be aware this is 'R' rated since DeviantArt is not really a playground for smut.

I'm not usually a fan of bimbo smut, but I do like a good 'training to be a sex slave' kind of story.

So while not the greatest story ever, this is a fun romp and deserves a mention.

The fact that all the teachers at the academy are also sex slaves adds to the sexual tension. It would be even better if the MC was being brainwashed into becoming a new teacher, but I'm afraid that's not likely where it's going to end.

I've had some ideas about writing a sexual training story in the past, and if my luck is amazing and my muse is productive perhaps one day I will get the chance to write it.

Midweek Hotness: Variety Edition

Skipping over to a superhero universe, did you ever wonder what might happen if the Venom symbiote merged with a female X-man instead of Eddy Brock? What if its goal is to fuck its way to the top, with the first victim being Emma Frost?

If that's what you're interested in, yes, indeed, that has been done.

I suppose this story would be a poster child for not having children. If your children are insane, alien symbiotes, at least.

Tipped Scales

This story has some questionable shenanigans going on. I can't say I enjoy the father/daughter incest about half way through the story. However, the unbelievable hotness of the main character being brainwashed into being a slave is incredibly hot and well executed.

I'm a sucker for tales where the heroine is slowly trained to be a better slave, twisted over time to obey her master or mistress until she can't tell the difference between obeying and her own desires. I think that's why Herd Instinct is still my favorite story of all time.

This story hits some similar vibes, so it's on the recommended list!

And now, for something completely different. I've always been a fan of suction devices, though it's a look, don't touch situation, as I bruise far too easily to get any enjoyment out of them.

Somebody posted this on the Mind Control Literature Discord, and I was immediately smitten.

Midweek Hotness: Discipline Hentai Edition

I've been threatening to review a Hentai for some time, and this seems like a good week to do it!

On the docket this time: 'Discipline - The Record of a Crusade,' which came out in 2002, though I probably didn't see it for about a year or two until after it came out (fan subs are amazing, but do take some time).

The next day, they enter the Academy. Not many saints here despite the name.

We meet a new character. I'll call her Miss Drill hair until we get her actual name (it's Leona).

It took awhile, but we finally get the MC's name. Taku, Taku, Takurou the transfer student. You would think this means he's gonna be taking it up the butt pretty soon, but that actually never happens. They just want his cock. Badly.

Miss Drill Hair has a smoking bod, but like all of them, she just wants to jump Takurou. After she puts him in his place. Puts him in her place?

We see the examiner lady from the beginning of the episode again, but we still don't know who she is. What a mystery/tease!

They finally get to class after several more counts of sexual harassment, and we meet the three clubbers. They want Takurou to join their social club. For innocent reasons, I'm sure.

Okay, I guess not. They just want his body like everybody else. Does our MC ever get tired of being put on a pedestal?

Ooh, a call back to the beginning of the episode. More sexually inexperienced sexual assaulters.

It's revealed that the class teacher is the sponsor of the 'sex club' (I mean social club), so she won't interfere while her student is sexually assaulted right in front of her.

I suppose you could call this peer pressure. Or sex pressure. The club members reveal the president of the club is none other than Miss Drill Hair! How surprising! 

Disappointed that the MC wasn't dumb enough to show up at the social club, they discuss his penis. I do like the evil costume change, though, that's a nice touch.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch/dorm, we get some exposition and find out that Miss Drill Hair's sister, Reina, is the school principal. Now we know who the examiner at the beginning of the episode is. They're in cahoots!

Filthy stinking rich. Yup. Hot and rich.

The next day... he can't possibly be this dumb. Not after he blew off the social club the previous day.

It's not at all suspicious that the nurse is dressed in a fetish outfit or that she looks like one of the social club girls from yesterday, right? Right?

Yes, I'll totally kiss you and swallow your drugs. At this point he's either dumb as a rock or is curious as to what they want with him.

The answer is, of course, a sex dungeon. Yes, it's time for our MC to get raped multiple times. This should be pretty horrifying, but so far in this show the MC has shown no aversion towards what's happening to him. It's just a fantasy story. Just fantasy. Just Monika. I mean, fantasy.

The social club should really be called the baby making club. There's gonna be lots of "socializing" going on, for sure.

Is the event how many dildos sexy nurse lady can stuff in her ass? Sadly, it isn't.

We get a quick flashback and find out to our shock that the principal drugged Takurou so she could measure his cock. Talk about a medical entrance exam!

How could anyone say no to that?

Drained from his encounter with the succubi-like social club members, he's thrown out back onto campus (they don't explain how he got his clothing back).

Saori is not too bright. She's the only one who hasn't tried to sex up Takurou this whole time! How can she not know what's going on all around her? Is she asexual or something?

He needs to come back and join up with the social club so that Mistress can sample him too.

Completely clueless girl tries to get Takurou to join up with her club, but it seems unlikely that she'll be successful. How could she have been sent to this school and not know the lascivious activities going on there? It boggles the mind. Also, I think Takurou is secretly enjoying all the attention.

Verdict

A fairly trashy guy's fantasy, but there's plenty of things to like about this show: The bondage costumes, the games being played, and the sheer forwardness of the women all contribute to making this a fun romp.

Despite how 'cruel' they try to make Mistress Leona seem, she's not really all that mean beyond scheming how to make the MC obey and sex her all the time. Pretty much everybody else is trying to do the same thing, too, so she's not exactly worse than any of the other people in this universe!

She sure does like to make everybody else have sex. A lot.

One odd thing to remark upon is that there's no other guys shown at the school! I know for a fact that later episodes introduce some, but everyone in Takurou's class is a woman. There's some kind of hanky panky going on there.

This is one of the Hentais I really like, because the characters are not ridiculously cruel to each other. It's played more as a light-hearted bondage sex show, which surprisingly works.

I may review more of this another time if I run out of ideas.
