First draft of 'Droneship' has been completed!

I'm excited to announce that I have completed the first draft of my next novella, 'Droneship!'

Coming in at 60K words, it's almost closer to a novel than a novella, but since I released my last book with novel pricing, I'm going to compromise and release this one with novella pricing. This probably doesn't make a lot of sense, but in some way I feel like I'm 'squaring' something in my mind!

At 144 pages, this is practically as long as 'Bull Moon' in many respects, so I consider it likely that it will take a full week to edit, if I really put my nose to the grindstone. No promises, but I would like to aim for a release somewhere the week of the 14th. That might come earlier or slip a bit depending on how fast I can get through it.

This story was a product of me wanting to spend some more time brainwashing people into robotic drones (always a lot of fun). I couldn't resist the story idea after I outlined it, so I slipped it into the schedule. Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about my other story ideas.

In fact, the next one on the docket is more of a buggy/squicky/horror story that I mentioned at the beginning of the year, previously titled 'The Lump.' I decided that was a lame title, so going forward, I'm going to call it 'Bugged Out,' and it will be a nasty little tale about women getting taken over by beetle-like parasite creatures and turned into their breeding nests. Less sex and more mind control/horror this go around.

I already have the cover art finished for this one, but I've decided going forward that I'm only going to release cover art after a book has been accepted by Amazon, as I don't want to start advertising too soon.

Switching back to 'Droneship', below is the synopsis I've cooked up. It's subject to change before release, of course, but it should give you an idea of what awaits!

Synopsis

"Proxima Nine is a long way to travel to a resort world with acquaintances she doesn’t know well, but Hazel has secret plans to use their destination to increase her own virtual fan base. This all gets upended when their cruise liner is picked up by a patrol vessel and everyone is removed for a customs check.

This is no military vessel, however, as all of the agents are wearing skin tight dronesuits, which have long since been outlawed by the AI Accords. Soon, they are being chased through maintenance tunnels, doing their best to avoid being trapped and converted into more brainless drones by a ruthless AI, which will stop at nothing to protect its existence.

As she learns about its goals, she finds it more and more difficult to resist the sexy allure of the drones all around her. Conforming with the others seems so much more pleasurable than resisting, especially when wrapped within one of its erotic latex suits."
